CLUB'S ETHOS
Our club is dedicated to nurturing the holistic development of young athletes by fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment. We emphasise the importance of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship, while instilling a lifelong passion for the game. Through innovative coaching techniques, personalised training plans, and a focus on both physical and mental well-being, we aim to help each player reach their full potential. Our goal is to develop not only skilled basketball players but also responsible, confident, and resilient individuals who excel on and off the court.

CLUB'S HISTORY
Stroud Sharks Basketball Club was established in 2007 by local PE teacher Ian Shepherd.
Initially the club was affiliated to Gloucester Blazers and Sharks will always be grateful to our ‘sister’ club, in particular Geoff Steer, for their support in the early years.
The club has grown year on year and in 2011 the club received the Stroud Sport and Physical Activity Awards Junior Club of the Year award in recognition of the work done in providing basketball for young people in the district.
After many years and successes in National League and following the departure of its founder in 2017, the club welcomed a new management committee and coaching team which decided to focus on participation, re-opening the club to more age groups and competing at a local level.

In 2025 the youth and seniors teams merged forces to create the ultimate Stroud Shark Club. This relationship provides the important bridge from youth into senior leagues.
